Bright Star
John Keats
Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art-
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night,
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature’s patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth’s human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors;
No-yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow’d upon my fair love’s ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever-or else swoon to death.
Stralucitoare stea,
Atât de linistit de-as fi
Nu singur în splendoarea noptii as trai
Cu ochii larg deschisi as urmari
Îndurator si singur m-as simti
Precum torentele grabite
pedepsite chiar de sus
Ce înconjoara tarmul lumii,
ca un fus
Sau voi privi prin delicata masca,
cea cazuta
La neaua de pe munti si de pe balta
Nu, linistit eu înca sunt,
de neschimbat
Supus la sânul unei iubiri curate
Pe veci va fi a mea, fara a ne abate
Mereu constient
într-o dulce tulburare
Duios, duios spre a-i simti
blajina rasuflare
Mereu noi doi asa vom fi,
ori moartea va fi alinare..
